About Us

Protomatic is a prototype machining and custom short-run precision CNC milling and turning facility located in a climate controlled 30,000 square foot facility in Dexter, Michigan - eight miles west of Ann Arbor.

Protomatic offers in-house design support, prototyping, production and assembly of custom parts and systems manufactured for the medical, automotive, military, and aerospace industries, as well as electronic and optical OEMs. We have the capacity to handle a single prototype as well as large production orders.

Protomatic also focuses on contract manufacturing for all industries specializing in CNC multi-axis vertical machining centers, C-Axis CNC lathes for precision turning, welding, plasma cutting, CAD, CAM, CMM, fixtures, tools and dies. In addition, custom parts made from billet or custom casting are available.

Through our large facilities, diverse capabilities, vast equipment resources, and conservative, steadfast business practices, we at Protomatic have been able to supply fast, efficient service to countless satisfied customers for nearly four decades. Our standards of quality are ensured through a complete process of testing and state-of-the-art quality inspection.
