DTE Energy Invests In Solid State Lighting Firm

Watertown, Mass.-based QD Vision Inc., developer of nanotechnology-based products for solid state lighting and displays, announced today that DTE Energy Ventures has invested $3 million in the company. The funding will support QD Vision’s market expansion of quantum dot-based nanomaterials that enable major efficiency gains in high-quality solid-state lighting and flat panel displays.

Net Metering Customer Count More than Doubles

The Michigan Public Service Commission staff Thursday filed its annual net metering program report, which shows that the number of net metering customers in Michigan has more than doubled from July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009. Net metering allows customers with renewable energy generators to sell power back to the grid.
